I just read this book "The Shadow of the Wind"and feel a bit sad.
It is a gloomy book but I bet you will like it...
This is the story about Barcelona and a bookshop.
(Yeah....I like anything about city and bookshop!!Author is quite clever as
he puts what I want in this book~)
Just quote some sentances in this book.
"Every book, every volume you see here, has a soul.
The soul of the person who worte it and of those
who read it and lived and dreamed with it.Every time
a book changes hands, every time someone runs his eyes
down it pages, its sprit grows and strengthens."
"Those first images, the echo of words we think we have
left behiind, accompanying us throughout our lives and
sculpt a place in our memory to which ,sooner or later,
-no matter how many books, how many worlds we discover,or
how much we learn and forget-we will return".
The memory and city, which Walter Benjamin is really good at,
are in this fascinating book as well.
